Remove user routes from a user profile

We've deprecated the Email routing setting, and we recommend you remove it from your users' profiles. To manage mail destinations for your users, use the routing methods listed in Route users' email to another address instead.

To remove existing Email routing settings for your users:

  1. In the Google Admin console, go to Menu and then Directory and then Users.

    Requires having the appropriate User management privilege. Without the correct privilege, you won't see all the controls needed to complete these steps.

  2. In the Users list, find the user. If you need help, go to Find a user account.
  3. Click the user's name to open their account page.
  4. Click User information, and scroll to Email routing.
  5. Select the checkboxes next to the destination email addresses, and click the Clear User Routes button.
  6. At the bottom, click Save.
  7. (Optional) To return to the user's account page, at the top right, click the Up arrow .
Changes can take up to 24 hours but typically happen more quickly. Learn more
