Access file without user login


When a report is generated, staff members who accessed the file are visible, when they have not been logging in.


  • Admin Console > Reporting


  1. Users might have applications with Drive permissions, if the app is backing up this file, it may show as the user accessed the file even if the user cannot log in after a password reset.
  2. The access by application instead of the user explains why the IP address shows as from a different country.
  3. A possible solution will be to move users to an Organizational Unit where app access is turned off.
  4. Accessing the file using apps will bypass resetting users passwords.
