Advanced filtering with Content Compliance rules

Problem

How do you create a Content compliance rule so that messages that meet specific criteria follow the specified actions?

Environment

Solution

  1. Sign to the Admin console.
  2. Navigate to Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Compliance.
  3. Scroll to the Content compliance setting in the Compliance section and click Configure or Add Another Rule.
  4. For each new setting, enter a unique description.
  5. Check the boxes next to the messages you want the rule to apply to.
  6. From the list, specify whether any or all conditions must match to trigger what happens to the message.
  7. Click Add.
  8. Click Save. You might need to scroll to see the new expression.
  9. Specify whether to modify, reject, or quarantine a message when conditions are met.
  10. Configure the options for the action you choose.
  11. Click Show options to configure additional options to limit the application of this setting.
  12. Click Save.
