Problem
When trying to access a Chromebook you get prompted for the old password.
Environment
- Chrome OS
- Login
Solution
This is an expected behavior when trying to sign in on a local profile after changing the password for your account if the customer has not correctly configured a third party Identity provider (SSO).
Example: In Azure you can Sync ChromeOS passwords using Change Password Notifier for Azure Active Directory . Chrome OS will always request the old password to give you access to the local data for that account on that device.
Workaround:
If you do not have the old password you can Remove an account from a Chromebook and sign in again.
