Cannot access Google Docs due to restriction


When trying to access Google Docs you get the following error message: The user can't access Google Docs within this network. 


  • Chrome browser
  • Mobile Devices


You must apply one of the solutions described below depending on the cause:

If the issue is due to the third-party filter application that is pushed in the Admin Console which is Securly, please follow the following steps:

  1. In your Google Admin console.
  2. Go to Menu > Devices > Chrome > Apps & extensions > Users & browsers.
  3. Find the app that you want to configure policies for.
  4. Under Installation policy, choose Block.
  5. Click Save.

Or, if the administrator can configure context-aware access rules to allow access to apps only from specific IPs, countries, etc. You must apply these steps:

  1. Go to Security > Context Aware Access > Assign access levels.
  2. Check if any access levels are applied to affected Organitzational Units and apps.
