Problem
You are unable to share folders located in a Shared Drive with external users, whenever there is an attempt to do so the following error message appears:
Permission denied, your permissions may have changed.
Environment
Google Drive
Solution
Move the desired folder out of the Shared Drive.
Share the recipient with a Contributor role or below.
Have the external recipient create a non-Gmail Google account.
Cause
The ContentManager and Manager roles in a Shared Drive are exclusive for Google users.
