Chrome OS Flex showing locked Chromebook

Problem

Error message: 
Your Chromebook is locked due to a known issue.

Environment

  • Chrome OS Flex

Solution

  1. Disable TPM on the affected device(s).

Cause

Error displayed when CloudReady reads the device's TPM state as locked. However, not all Chrome OS Flex devices use the hardware TPM and in those cases the error is shown erroneously.
