Problem
How can you configure a routing rule to stop a user sending or receiving emails?
Environment
- Gmail front end and back end
Solution
- In the Admin Console, click Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Routing.
- Click Configure or Add another rule and set a name for the routing rule.
- Check Inbound and Outbound.
- In the second step For the above types of messages, do the following select Reject.
- At the bottom of the pop up select Show more.
- Mark both Only affect specific envelope senders and Only affect specific envelope recipients and add the email of the person that will be blocked.
- Save the changes .
Note: Routing rules do not have propagation time so it should work right away
