Device asks for previous account information after factory reset


You are unable to use device after factory resetting since the device is asking for the previous account information which you do not have.


  • Android devices
  • Account that was on the device was deleted some time ago and cannot be recovered


  1. Devices that were factory reset when Factory Reset Protection policy was enabled will require the account used when the device was factory reset in order to continue new device setup.
Note: If you disable this policy, this will not take affect for devices already factory reset as this policy syncs prior to a factory reset being performed.
