Error received when trying to create a new user

Problem

When trying to create a new user you get an error stating the email address already exists. 
The email address already exists.

Environment

  • Google Workspace

Solution

  1. Open the Admin console.
  2. Go to Menu > Directory > Users.
  3. On the left, under All organizations.
  4. At the top of the page, click Add new user
  5. Remove the check on the box Invite user
  6. Click on Create.

Cause

An unmanaged account was associated to a YouTube account with user's email address preventing user creation.
