Error when installing a work profile on tablet

Problem

When trying to add an account into a tablet, you get the following error: 
Your system cannot be managed by this app. Please contact your administrator.

Environment

  • Android 11 (Android GO) OS

Solution

As the device is not compatible, you must switch to basic Mobile Device Management:
  1. In your Admin console.
  2. Go to  Menu > Devices > Mobile & endpoints > Settings > Universal settings.
  3. Click General > Mobile management.
  4. To apply the setting to everyone, leave the top organizational unit selected. Otherwise, select a child organizational unit.
  5. Select Basic.
  6. Click Save.

Cause

Android Go is not compatible to have Advanced MDM.
