How can you allow users to join meetings without having to knock?

Environment

  • Google Workspace with Host Management turned on.

Solution

There are two ways to turn on Quick Access.

First option: In a Meeting

  1. At the bottom right, click Host controls.
  2. From the side panel that opens, toggle Quick Access ON or OFF.

Second option: From Google Calendar:

For New Events:

  1. Create a new event.
  2. Click Add Google Meet video conferencing.
  3. On the right, click Change conference settings.
  4. Check the box next to Quick access.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Set up your event.

For Existing Events:

  1. Select a meeting.
  2. Click Edit event.
  3. Under the event details, click Change conference settings. 
  4. Check the box next to Quick access.
  5. Click Save.
