How to block Google Search using URL blocking

Problem

How can you block Google Search for a group of users.

Environment

  • Chromebook
  • Chrome browser

Solution

  1. Go to the Admin console.
  2. Then go to Devices > Chrome > Settings > Users & browsers.
  3. Select the organizational unit to be affected.
  4. Go under URL blocking and add the URL: 
    https://www.google.com/search?q=*
  5. Save the changes.

Cause

There is no device or user policy to block Google Search.
