How to disable work profile enforcement on Android

Problem

You want to prevent a work profile from enforcement. 

Environment

  • Android Devices
  • Advanced Mobile Device Management

Solution

This feature is only enforced (and available) when mobile management for Android is set to advanced, to be able to add the account without having to set it up, you must lower the management level to basic. To perform this follow the steps described below:
  1. Go to the Admin console and on the menu at the left click Devices > Mobile & endpoints >Settings >Universal Settings.
  2. Click General.
  3. Click Mobile management.
  4. Set it to Basic management for Android or for all the devices.
  5. Save the changes.

Cause

Advanced management does not allow this to be optional with the Android Device Policy.
