Problem
How can you map a Google Site to the domain name?
Environment
- Admin console web UI
- Google Site web UI
Solution
- Log in to your Admin console home page.
- From the left menu, click Apps > Google Workspace > Sites.
- From the new page, click Custom URL.
- Click Add > New sites.
- Click Continue.
- Enter the current URL for the site. Note: The URL will be sites.google.com/domain/sitename.
- Click Continue.
- Select a verified domain.
- Enter a custom URL for the site and click Continue.
- Click Add Custom URL.
Then, create a new CNAME by following these steps.
- Sign in to your domain host’s website.
- Go to the DNS management page.
- Find the CNAME settings and for the CNAME value or alias, enter your custom URL.
- For the CNAME destination, enter ghs.googlehosted.com.
- Save the changes.
