How to sync shared files in Drive for Desktop


You cannot sync Shared with me files while using Drive for Desktop.


  • Drive for Desktop

  • Mac


  1. Access Shared with me in Drive.
  2. Right click on top of the file/folder of interest and pick Send shortcut to Drive.
  3. Select where you want to send the shortcut to (My Drive or a Shared drive) and click Add shortcut. This will allow file syncing with Drive for Desktop.


Shared with me does not sync via Drive for Desktop.
