How to track Chrome device location.
Environment
Usually admins want to track Chrome devices that are missing or stolen to recover them.
Solution
Google does not have a feature to track ChromeOS devices. Third party solutions are available that use WPS (WiFi Positioning System) to track ChromeOS devices. However, this only works if the device is connected to WiFi and its accuracy is usually, far less than optimal.
Cause
Chromebooks are lower-end devices, especially for the educational space. Most Chrome devices lack GPS hardware to use location tracking properly.
