How to turn a Google Group into a user account.
Environment
Solution
This is working to product specification, it is not currently possible to turn a Google Group into a user account. This is a workaround available:
- Rename the Google Group (change its email address).
- Delete the group's email alias associated with the renamed group.
- Create a new user with the desired email address (the group's original address).
- Create a routing rule in a way all messages sent to that address are also delivered to the group members.
