How to view the activity on your Google Docs

Problem

You are unable to see the list of viewers in the viewers section.

Environment

  • Google Docs
  • Google Sheets
  • Google Slides

Solution

When the list of viewers is too long, it can only be seen from the viewers trend section and this is an expected behavior.
  1. On your computer, open a file in Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides.
  2. At the top, click Tools > Activity dashboard.
  3. On the left, click Viewer trend or Comment trend.

To filter activity by time frame:

  1. In the top right, click the down arrow.
  2. Choose a time frame. 
Note: You must have edit access to a file to see the viewer and comment trends.

Cause

The list of viewers is too long to display.
