Problem
Want to force install the Google Device Policy app on iOS while using Okta as the IdP.
Environment
- iOS devices with Advanced MDM
- Okta as the third party IdP
Solution
This is only possible if the third party solution is as well an EMM provider or using Jamf or any other tool to manage iOS devices directly, since Google MDM only takes effect after the setup (even when using Company Owned since the device must be setup before being used).
Multiply EMM solutions usually cannot co-exist and this configuration is not supported by Google.
Cause
The Google Device Policy app cannot be pushed before the device is managed, only the Google apps (Gmail, Drive, etc) will suggest to download the Google Device Policy app as part of the setup process.
