Unable to delete user due to Vault retention policy

Problem

Unable to delete user due to Vault retention policy.

Environment

  • Admin console
  • User and organizational level management

Solution

  1. Create 2 organizational units in the Admin console.
  2. Move the users that will be deleted to a separate OU.
  3. In Vault, click Domain Holds.
  4. Check the holds and modify them, to apply to the OU where the users that will remain in the organization are active.
  5. Save the changes.
  6. Try to delete the users again. 

Cause

A Vault rule affecting users, not allowing them to be deleted.
