Problem
You want to prevent users from changing the default search engine.
Environment
- Chrome browser
- ChromeOS
- Chromebooks
Solution
- Log in to the Admin console.
- Go to Devices > Chrome > Settings > User & browser.
- Choose the organization unit where the users are.
- Look for the policy Omnibox search provider.
- Enter the value provided in the link below to set Google as the default search engine.
This configuration is different from the default browser setting, which is configured on OS level.
