Unable to change primary domain

Problem

You are unable to change your primary domain name since the Make Primary option is missing.

Environment

  • Admin console
  • Domain Management

Solution

  1. Open the Admin console.
  2. Go to Domains > Manage domains.
  3. Next to the domain alias domain in question, click Remove.
  4. Click Remove alias domain.
  5. Re-add the domain as a secondary domain.
  6. Next to the new secondary domain, click Make Primary.
  7. Click Change Primary Domain.

Cause

In order for a domain to become a primary domain it must be added as a secondary domain, user alias domains cannot be converted into primary domains.
