Unable to paste external content in Sheets

You are unable to paste external content using Ctrl+Shift+V, and Ctrl+Alt+V in Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

You must install the Google Docs offline extension. If the extension is being blocked to prevent enabling offline access, you can also achieve this by setting offline access to managed devices only.

Allow users to turn on offline access (recommended)

1. In the  Admin console.
2. Navigate to Menu > Apps > Google Workspace > Drive and Docs.
   • Requires having the Service Settings administrator privilege.
3. Click Features and Applications.
4. Next to Offline, select Allow users to enable offline access (recommended).
   • Recent files will be synced and saved on the user's computer and computers they trust.
5. Inform your users to how to sync files for offline use.

If the extension is not installed in the Google Chrome browser the ability to paste special external content into a Google Docs or Google Sheets is not enabled.
