Unable to receive emails from external sender

Problem

You notice you are unable to receive emails from a specific sender.

Environment

  • Gmail
  • Admin console

Solution

  1. Use the message header to track email delivery using Email Log Search.
    1. Go to the Admin Console.
    2. Select Reporting > Email Log Search.
    3. Paste the Message ID and view the results.
    4. By clicking the recipient's address you may see:
      • Delivery status.
      • If the email was delivered or rejected.
      • The rejection reason.
      • Any errors and rules applied.
        • Note: The email log search will only show emails that arrived to Google Servers, if there aren't any results it means the email never reached the servers.
