Unable to set auto-reply for users using only the Admin console

You are unable to set auto-reply for users using only the Admin console.

Solution

Currently, there is no specific auto-reply option within the Admin console.

Workaround
  1. Sign in to the Admin console.
  2. Go to Menu > Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Default routing.
  3. Click on Configure.
  4. Under step 1 enter the email address.
  5. Under step 2 change Modify message to Reject message.
  6. Enter a customized rejection message that will act as auto-reply.
  7. Under step 3 make sure you select Perform this action on non-recognized and recognized addresses.
