Check events for the new data migration service

After you set up a migration with the new data migration service, you can review the data for Data migration log events and Admin log events to verify configuration changes and check if an event occurred. For example, you can review if a connection was created or a migration started.

Check Data migration log events data

  1. In the Google Admin console, go to Menu and then Reporting and thenAudit and investigation and thenData Migration log events.

    Requires having the Audit & Investigation administrator privilege.

  2. Click Add Condition and thenAttribute and select Event.
    For a complete list of events, go to Event descriptions (later on this page).
  3. Click Event and select an event.
  4. Click Search.

Check Admin log events data

  1. In the Google Admin console, go to Menu and then Reporting and thenAudit and investigation and thenAdmin log events.

    Requires having the Audit & Investigation administrator privilege.

  2. Click Add Condition and thenAttribute and select Event.
  3. On the side, click Events and thenMigration events.
  4. Select an event and click Apply.

Data migration log events

The logged event can be one of these event types:

  • Migration setup—An action that an administrator takes related to setting up the migration—for example, creating a connection, starting a migration, or exiting a migration.
  • Migration—An action taken by the migration tool while the migration is in progress—for example, creating a Gmail label or creating a Google Drive file.
