Legitimate email to a group marked as spam

This page is for administrators who manage groups for an organization. If you're not an admin and need help managing your own groups, go to the Learning Center. Requires turning on Groups for Business Sometimes, Google Groups marks legitimate messages as spam and sends them to the moderation queue. To reduce the possibility of this, you can relax a group's spam controls to allow delivery of suspected spam.

Notes:

  • To prevent harmful spam from reaching a group, messages identified as high-confidence spam are always rejected even when you relax spam controls for a group.
  • Some spam controls aren't available with Google Workspace trial accounts.

Relax a group's spam controls

To relax a group's spam controls to allow delivery of suspected spam:

  1. Sign in to Google Groups.
  2. Click the name of a group.
  3. On the left, click Group settings and thenPosting policies.
  4. Under Spam message handling, select Post suspicious messages to the group.
  5. Click Save changes.
