If you have a Flexible Plan for Google Workspace, you can import up to 10 users from Microsoft Exchange Online when you set up your Workspace account.
If you have an Annual/Fixed-Term Plan, you need to add more licenses before you can import users during Workspace setup. For details, go to Add licenses to an Annual Plan.
The import process doesn't delete or modify existing users in Exchange Online, but copies user information to Workspace.
Import business data
To import Microsoft users during your Workspace domain setup, you need super administrator access in Workspace and global administrator access in Microsoft.
To import Exchange Online users:
- Select Open Import tool.
- Select Microsoft
Continue.
- Select Connect.
- Select the account you want to connect
Accept.
- To review the users that will be imported, select View users.
- Select Start import.
- To continue setting up your Microsoft account while the user import runs, select Continue with setup.
After each user is imported, you get an email with Workspace sign-in instructions. Be sure to forward the email to a secondary email address for the user you imported.
When your users are completely imported, use the data import tool to import the users' emails, calendars, and contacts. For details, go to What's imported for Exchange Online?.
