Copy data between Google Workspace accounts

As an administrator, you can copy your users' data—email, calendars, documents, sites, and more—from an existing account to a new one. You can also choose to merge data from several accounts into one account. In some cases, you copy the users' data. In other cases, users copy their own data.

Notes

  • If you copy a large amount of data all at once, it might take some time for the data to be available in the account you're copying to.
  • Before copying data for a deleted user, you need to restore that user within 20 days of deletion. If you want to retain a user‘s data, you can suspend or archive them.

In the Admin console, you can let users in your organization move their own files, or other users' files, from My Drive or shared drives to other shared drives:

If someone leaves your company, you can transfer the files they own in Drive to someone else:

If you have a customer migration of 1,000 users or more, you can migrate data from one Google Workspace environment to another using Google Workspace Migrate.

If you have a customer migration of 1,000 users or fewer, you can import your users' email data to Google Workspace using the data import tool.
