If you purchased your domain from GoDaddy when you signed up for Google Workspace, your domain registration will be migrated to a GoDaddy domains account starting May 11, 2026. After that date, GoDaddy will provide ongoing management, billing, and support for your domain subscription.
When your domain is migrated, a new GoDaddy domains account is automatically created for you. You'll get an email with instructions on how to access this account using your existing GoDaddy domain sign-in information.
Does this change apply to me?
This migration affects you only if you purchased a GoDaddy domain while signing up for a Workspace subscription. If GoDaddy is your domain registrar and you're impacted by this change, you'll be notified by email.
How do I find out if GoDaddy is my domain registrar?
To find your domain registrar, go to Find your domain registrar.
What steps do I need to take?
Before your domain is migrated
Review the contact information associated with your domain subscription and update it as needed. To review and update your domain contact information, sign in to your Google Admin console and go to Menu Account
Domains
Manage domains
View Details. Use the details from this page to sign in to your account, and if needed, update the contact information before your domain is migrated.
After your domain is migrated
GoDaddy will send an email to your GoDaddy domain contact. This email will include instructions on how to sign in to your new GoDaddy account, enter your billing information, and manage your account. If you can't sign in to your GoDaddy account, go to Get support later on this page.
Important: To avoid potential domain-renewal issues, such as suspension or cancellation, we highly recommend that you sign in to your new account and add your billing information as soon as you get this email.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this migration impact my Workspace subscription?
No, this migration won't impact your Workspace subscription. However, to ensure that your next domain registration renewal is seamless, review your domain contact information (and update it, if needed) in the Admin console before your domain migrates to GoDaddy.

What will I be charged for my domain at the next renewal?
GoDaddy will contact you about domain subscription pricing at least 30 days before your domain registration renewal date.
If my domain registration was previously set to auto renew, do I need to take action?
Yes. After your domain has been migrated, you must sign in to your new GoDaddy account to enter your billing information and, if needed, update your contact information. After you complete these steps, your domain registration is set to auto renew by default. You can change this setting in your GoDaddy account.
When will my domain registration expire?
Before your domain migrates to GoDaddy, you can check your domain registration expiration and renewal dates in the Admin console. For details, go to Manage domain registration renewals.
After your domain migrates to GoDaddy, you can check your domain registration expiration and renewal dates in your GoDaddy account.
Will I receive a cancellation notification for my Google Domain subscription?
Yes. After your domain is migrated, we'll email you confirmation that your Google Domains subscription has been canceled. This notice confirms that you no longer have an active Google Domains subscription. However, your domain subscription is still in effect and can be managed in your new GoDaddy domains account.
Additionally, GoDaddy will send you a welcome email with the sign-in details for your new GoDaddy account.
If I have an existing GoDaddy account, can the domain be added to my existing account, or can the newly created account be merged with my existing account?
No. If you purchased a GoDaddy domain when you signed up for Workspace, that domain can't be added to or merged with your existing GoDaddy account.
If you want to merge an existing GoDaddy account with your new GoDaddy account, contact GoDaddy support after your new account is created. Note that merging accounts could impact your domain registration renewal pricing.
