Cancel your Looker Studio Pro subscription

To stop using Looker Studio Pro in your organization, cancel your subscription. If you're billed on a monthly Flexible Plan, canceling your subscription immediately stops further billing for Looker Studio Pro services.

What happens when I cancel?

Canceling your subscription ends all your Looker Studio Pro licenses. Your users lose access to all Looker Studio Pro features, and billing stops immediately.

When you cancel a Looker Studio Pro subscription:

  • Users can continue to use the no-cost version of Looker Studio.
  • Looker Studio Pro features in reports that were moved to or created in a team workspace or Sandbox that belongs to a canceled Looker Studio Pro project stop working. To review these features, go to About Looker Studio Pro.
  • Team workspaces and folders might become inaccessible. Save the URLs of important reports as bookmarks to ensure their availability.
  • If you delete the canceled project, any content that remains in that project is permanently deleted.
  • All alerts are deactivated.
  • Any users or groups that you granted the Can create schedules permission to keep the permission. You can't grant the permission to any other users.

You can cancel Looker Studio Pro and keep your other subscriptions active, such as Google Workspace. If you have an active Workspace subscription, after you cancel Looker Studio Pro, you can still access your billing accounts.

After you cancel, you can resume using Looker Studio Pro features for a project within 30 days by resubscribing to Looker Studio Pro and linking to the same project.

After 30 days

  • A canceled Looker Studio Pro project's content moves to a no-cost Looker Studio project.
  • All team workspaces that belong to the canceled Looker Studio Pro project are permanently deleted.
  • If the canceled Looker Studio Pro project has content in a team workspace and that workspace has managers with active accounts, then that content's ownership is transferred to a workspace manager. If there are no active team workspace manager accounts, the content remains "ownerless" in the canceled Looker Studio Pro project.
  • If the canceled Looker Studio Pro project has content in a Sandbox, and that Sandbox owner's account is still active, then that content moves back to the owner's Owned by me location in the no-cost version of Looker Studio. If the Sandbox owner's account no longer exists, the content remains "ownerless" in the canceled Looker Studio Pro project.
  • If a new owner can't be assigned to the content, it remains in the canceled Looker Studio Pro project. The project owner can assign a new content owner.
