Before you start using Gmail logs with BigQuery, complete the steps in this article.
Add a project editor for your project. The project editor sets up the BigQuery project in the Google Admin console.
At the top of the page, click ADD.
In New members, enter the project editor's user ID.
In Select a Role, select Project, then Editor.
Optionally, click ADD ANOTHER ROLE to add the same person as the project owner: Select Project, then Owner.
Click Save.
VPC Service Controls
If you use VPC service controls with your Google Cloud project, they must be turned off in the BigQuery project so Gmail can export data to BigQuery. Off is the default setting.
Domain Restricted Sharing
If you restrict identities by domain in Google Cloud, you might need to change some settings to support Gmail logs in BigQuery. Learn more in Restricting Identities by Domain.
