Remotely manage devices

Beam-enabled devices allow remote management by admins for specific operations during standard video meetings. This functionality is not supported for Beam 3D meetings.

Google Beam for Meet

You can use the Google Admin console to remotely connect, disconnect, mute, and reboot Beam-enabled devices. Users in conference rooms can still control their devices, even for meetings that are managed remotely. In particular, only users in conference rooms can unmute the microphone, to help ensure their privacy.

Google Beam for Zoom

Admins can use the Zoom web portal (Room Management and then Zoom Rooms) to remotely manage devices, including selecting the speaker, microphone, or camera, and restarting the Zoom Rooms app or computer. This requires admin-level permissions, and the device must have Auto Login for Zoom Rooms enabled. Visit the Zoom web portal documentation for Remote Zoom Rooms Management.
