Get started with HP Dimension with Google Beam

HP Dimension with Google Beam is exclusively available from HP Amplify resellers, and installation and support is provided by the reseller's audio & video installer (AVI). This high-level workflow describes the order of operations and touchpoints between your IT team and the AVI. Each linked article contains instructions for both Google Meet and Zoom licenses.

  1. Review the high-level requirements and the HP Dimension with Google Beam Room and Deployment Readiness Guide to ensure that your physical spaces, network capability, and Google Workspace or Zoom licensing are sufficient.
  2. Buy HP Dimension hardware and Google Beam licenses from an HP Amplify reseller.
  3. If an IT administrator won't be present for enrollment, create a custom role and user account in the Google Admin console for the reseller's AVI. This enables them to enroll your devices without having access to other administrator controls.
  4. Create a Poly Lens account to enable the AVI to start the warranty and Poly+ term upon enrollment.
  5. If room resources haven't already been set up for the conference rooms where the devices will be installed, create them:
  6. [Verify that the licenses are present][14] in the Google Admin console.
  7. Arrange for the AVI to install the HP Dimension hardware and enroll the devices. You can read the HP Dimension & Google Beam Installation Guide for details about the physical installation of your hardware.
  8. Add Google Beam as a resource feature to the rooms where the devices are installed. This allows people in your organization to search for Beam-enabled rooms when scheduling meetings.
  9. Assign the room's calendar to each device so it can be added to meeting invites.
  10. Enable display signage or a screensaver to avoid screen burn-in.
  11. Set up support contacts in Poly Lens and grant AVIs access to break/fix data.
