HP Dimension with Google Beam is exclusively available from HP Amplify resellers, and installation and support is provided by the reseller's audio & video installer (AVI). This high-level workflow describes the order of operations and touchpoints between your IT team and the AVI. Each linked article contains instructions for both Google Meet and Zoom licenses.
- Review the high-level requirements and the HP Dimension with Google Beam Room and Deployment Readiness Guide to ensure that your physical spaces, network capability, and Google Workspace or Zoom licensing are sufficient.
- Buy HP Dimension hardware and Google Beam licenses from an HP Amplify reseller.
- If an IT administrator won't be present for enrollment, create a custom role and user account in the Google Admin console for the reseller's AVI. This enables them to enroll your devices without having access to other administrator controls.
- Create a Poly Lens account to enable the AVI to start the warranty and Poly+ term upon enrollment.
- If room resources haven't already been set up for the conference rooms where
the devices will be installed, create them:
- Google Workspace
- Zoom
- Microsoft Outlook (if your organization uses Outlook to manage resources)
- [Verify that the licenses are present][14] in the Google Admin console.
- Arrange for the AVI to install the HP Dimension hardware and enroll the devices. You can read the HP Dimension & Google Beam Installation Guide for details about the physical installation of your hardware.
- Add Google Beam as a resource feature to the rooms where the devices are installed. This allows people in your organization to search for Beam-enabled rooms when scheduling meetings.
- Assign the room's calendar to each device so it can be added to meeting invites.
- Enable display signage or a screensaver to avoid screen burn-in.
- Set up support contacts in Poly Lens and grant AVIs access to break/fix data.
