Google Duo has transitioned to Google Meet for video meetings.
Send & check messages with Meet
The Legacy (Duo) messages feature is no longer available. Your users will need to export their messages from their legacy calling account settings before they're removed on January 26, 2026. Users can only view their messages on the Google Meet app.
About age restrictions for Legacy (Duo-like) calling features
If you have Google Workspace for Education, users in your organization must be over 18 years of age to use legacy calling features. You don't need to change any settings to prevent users under 18 from using legacy calling features.
Turning off Meet affects former Duo users
Turning off Meet turns off Duo Calling, now Meet legacy calls, even if the additional services switch is on. This action turns off all Meet legacy calling accounts and users will lose all of the data associated with those accounts. That data cannot be recovered.
