Manage device password

If a Beam-enabled device has a password or passcode set, you need it to access the Station Utilities Menu (SUM), and your reseller's support technician will need it to troubleshoot the device. Creation of the password varies depending on your license:

  • Google Beam for Meet: Password is auto-generated during enrollment.
  • Google Beam for Zoom: Passcode must be manually set. If the associated Zoom Room doesn't have a passcode, we recommend that you create one so that end users can't access the menu. Go to the Zoom documentation for instructions.

If the device doesn't have a password set, anyone with physical access to the touchscreen can access the SUM.

This document describes how to view and change a device's password.
