Allow users to display their names in meeting rooms

Companion mode allows meeting participants to join Google Meet video calls on a second screen. Room check-in allows participants who join a Meet hardware room in Companion mode to also display their name for better collaboration.

Room check-in is available on all Meet Hardware devices by default, but administrators can disable check-in for specific rooms.

All users can check in to eligible Meet hardware rooms when joining a meeting in Companion mode. Administrators can enable or disable check-in for users in the Meet safety settings. See Turn room check-in on or off for your users.

Enable proximity detection for your Meet hardware to simplify the room check-in experience, allowing it to occur automatically.
