Join meetings using SIP on Google Meet hardware

You can join SIP meetings using Pexip from both ChromeOS and Android-based Google Meet hardware devices.

Some Meet features aren't supported in a SIP meeting.

Before you begin

Turn on Allow Meet hardware to join third-party video conferencing services. For details, go to Allow Meet hardware to join third-party video conferencing services.

Schedule a SIP meeting on a Meet hardware device

If a Google Calendar user in your organization owns an event that includes a SIP address, they can add the room that's associated with a Google Meet hardware device. The SIP meeting will appear on the room's agenda.

If the event with SIP meeting details originated outside of your organization or from a client other than Calendar:

  1. Duplicate the event in Calendar.
  2. Add the room with Meet hardware to the duplicated event.
We recommend that you remove all participants from the duplicated event so they don't get multiple invitations.

Join a scheduled SIP meeting using Pexip from a Meet hardware device

  1. Find a Meet room where Meet hardware is available.
  2. Where you see your meeting agenda, tap the meeting name that includes the subtitle Via SIP.
  3. After joining the meeting, you might need to enter an additional passcode using the DTMF keypad.

Join with a meeting code

  1. Find a Meet room where Meet hardware is available.
  2. Tap Enter a code or nickname.
  3. At the top, select SIP.
  4. Enter the SIP address from the invite.
  5. Tap Join.
