If you need professional-grade telephony features, you can sign up for Google Voice Starter or Google Voice Standard without a Google Workspace subscription.
Eligibility requirements
- Voice Starter and Voice Standard are available as standalone subscriptions for users in the U.S. who are 18 years of age and older with a personal Gmail account that ends in @gmail.com.
- If you have pending number ports on a free Voice account, you need to complete or cancel the porting before signing up for Voice Starter or Voice Standard.
- You can't sign up for a Voice Starter standalone or Voice Standard standalone subscription if you have:
- A personal Google account that is not @gmail.com
- A domain-verified Workspace account
- A Voice service associated with a Google Fiber plan
- A Workspace Individual subscription

Before you begin

Set up your standalone Voice subscription
- Go to the Google Voice homepage and click Get Started.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Manage your account in the Admin console
With a Voice Starter standalone or Voice Standard standalone subscription, you get access to the Google Admin console.
To sign in:
- Go to admin.google.com.
- Sign in using your Gmail account.
Tip: You can also go to the Admin console from the Settings tab in the Voice web app.
In the Admin console, you can:
- View user information, such as name, assigned number, and email address
- Release and reclaim a Voice number
- Assign a different number
- Set up Voice desk phones
- Add Voice locations
- Port business numbers to Voice
- Review Voice billing
Upgrade your Voice Starter or Voice Standard subscription
